Medak

Medak Lok Sabha Constituency is one of the 17 parliamentary constituencies in Telangana and is located in the north-western part of the state. The constituency covers parts of Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts and is one of Telangana's most historically and politically significant parliamentary seats. Medak gained national prominence when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi represented the constituency in the 1980 Lok Sabha election.

The constituency combines rapidly urbanising areas on the outskirts of Hyderabad with extensive agricultural regions in rural Telangana. Agriculture remains a major economic activity, supported by irrigation projects, tanks and groundwater resources.
