Kancheepuram Lok Sabha Constituency is one of the 39 parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu and is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). Located in the northeastern part of the state, the constituency covers large parts of Kancheepuram district and portions of Chengalpattu district. It combines one of India's oldest temple cities with rapidly growing industrial, educational and suburban regions, making it one of Tamil Nadu's most historically significant and economically diverse parliamentary constituencies.

Kancheepuram, often referred to as the "City of a Thousand Temples," is one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism and has been a major centre of religion, education and culture for over 1,500 years. The city is world-renowned for its handwoven Kanchipuram silk sarees, which enjoy Geographical Indication (GI) status. Kancheepuram has traditionally been one of Tamil Nadu's politically important Scheduled Caste-reserved parliamentary constituencies. The seat has witnessed electoral contests among the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The constituency has generally reflected the broader political trends of the state, with the two major Dravidian parties dominating elections.
